MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Before turning in this application, all applicants must meet the following criteria and agree to the terms as set forth below.

1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

2. Must hold a current Texas drivers license.

3. Must have current liability automobile insurance.

4. Have an acceptable driving record as set forth below.

a. No more than three moving violations in a three-year period.

b. No more than three chargeable accidents in a three-year period.

c. No convictions for D.W.I. or D.U.I.

5. Successfully complete a 90-probation period and complete all training materials.

6. Must be able to pass all aspects of the application process as set forth below.

1st Interview

Fills out paper work for back ground check. Criminal and driving record

2nd Interview

Fills out paper work for physical and drug test

3^rd interview

Agility test

**** All done while wearing a simulated vest simulating an air pack****

Up 1 stair and pull up 1 roll 50’ 3" hose hand over hand/lower hand over hand and down 1 stair in 60 sec.

Carry 70 pounds 25’, then 75 pounds 25’ in 45 seconds

Pull a charged 100’ 2 ½" hose 50’ in 20 seconds

Drag 4" hose dummy 100’ in 30 seconds

Receives department guideline booklet. Should be reviewing while waiting to be voted in.

****All results placed in file for review of the Fire Chief or designee****

Voted in 90 day probationary period

90 day probationary period will learn department

If found that a requirement cannot be met, the application process will be stopped and put on hold until the criteria’s can be met. If the application is still on hold at the next schedule business meeting, the application will be terminated.
